We are Yargus - Automation Staff Highlight
Josh Woods, Automation Engineer for Yargus, started as an intern from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in June of 2016. Quickly, he proved to be a valuable member of the Yargus Automation Technology team and was hired on full time in November of 2016. Josh is currently focusing on Research and Development in Automation, and he will graduate from Rose-Hulman with his B.S. in Computer Engineering this summer. Josh is also honored as a member of Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society member for academic achievement for the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers.
Josh gained different job experiences as a Manager for a Marketing Firm and Manufacturing Engineer. It did always make sense for Josh to eventually explore a field in electronics- “I have always found it fascinating how things work and specifically how electronics work. The more I learn, the more I want to know.” Josh’s goals in the Automation department are to ensure that we can automate all of our own equipment and improve the efficiency of our equipment through better automation techniques.
Josh has enjoyed the experience of influencing the projects he’s worked on at Yargus. He states that he likes that Yargus still has “the small family owned operation feel to it” and enjoys working with his coworkers. Josh would like to help improve the processes of determining what the customer would like in their automation, to customize it to their exact needs.
When Josh isn’t developing new automation at Yargus, he enjoys playing basketball and fishing in his free time. Josh has a been a great addition to our automation team at Yargus.
As co-worker Sean Martin stated, “Adding Josh to our team was a great move. He has fit in great from day one, and has brought a large amount of knowledge with him. He is very driven and always open to trying new things if it can improve our team and product line.”
